Belt Vertical Transport (BVT)

BVT is an artificial oil lifting system which transports oil to the surface by using an oil adherent – water repellent – continuous belt. It replaces traditional pumping with vertical transportation. This innovative technology efficiently replaces traditional subsurface equipment, eliminating down-hole pumps, tubing strings, rod strings, beam pumping unit, or ESP and PCP units.
BVT Working Principle
BVT consist of surface unit and downhole unit.
- The belt cycles down the well into the oil column and transports the oil vertically to the surface.
- The subsurface unit is balanced to keep the belt on tension and down in the oil column.
- The surface unit drives the belt and twist the belt to extract the produced oil.
- A measurement and pumping unit could also be installed to gather the oil and pump it into your pipeline.
